Pastoral Council

Pastoral Council advises the Pastor about the overall mission and well-being of the parish. Listening to the Lord, the pastor, and fellow parish members, Council helps to evaluate parish life and plan for its future. Pastoral Council has a critical lay leadership role at St. Bernadette Parish. Each October, the parish discerns two new members for a three year term; the pastor also appoints one person for a three year term. Meetings are the first Wednesday of each month, 7:00—9:00 pm; parish members are invited to observe. Click here to see the latest meeting minutes.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee has the primary responsibility for oversight and advisory functions of the Parish capital structure and financial activities. Members are appointed by the Board and serve until resignation or removal. The Committee meets as frequently as circumstances dictate. Much information is provided by the Business Manager and shared via email. Responsibilities and duties are primarily concerned with review of the financial statements and discussion and recommendation for following budget guidelines. Members include: Fr. Tim Ralston, Mark Armstrong, Richard Barbercheck, Paul Roetenberger.

Youth Ministry

****There is no youth ministry at this time.****

St. Bernadette is committed to lead youth into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, so they know His unconditional love for them. We will empower youth to open their hearts, allowing the Holy Spirit to transform them into intentional disciples of Jesus in our world today. We will encourage them to have responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of our Catholic community, and equip them to become full, active participants in the sacramental life of the Catholic Church. We will foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each youth to help them become leaders, witnessing the Father’s love to the ends of the earth.

Festival

Volunteers are always needed each year for festival planning and for working in the booths. Come join us for fun, food, and games as we celebrate the end of summer! Our festival is a great way to spend time with your family. We've got something for everyone - rides, kiddie games, games for teenagers, casino for the adults, and lots of food and drink to enjoy. In addition, we have a full lineup of live bands to offer each evening, so come out for dinner and dancing!

Environmental Ministry

Our ministry consists of volunteers that keep the church clean on a weekly basis and prepare it for the weekend liturgies as well as different liturgical seasons. Volunteers clean on a monthly basis. Parishioners may donate a floral arrangement for the sacristy on a specific weekend in commemoration of a special occasion or for a loved one. Your name and intention will be printed in that weekend's bulletin. Arrangements must be scheduled ahead of time with the Coordinator.

Prayer Circle

The St. Bernadette Prayer Circle is a group of parishioners praying for people who are in need of prayer. The prayer line is a way of having immediate prayers said for your needs. Many of those prayers have been answered. Prayer partners are always welcome.

If you are in need of prayer, please submit your request by calling (513) 943-4180.

His Mercy Prayer Group

His Mercy Prayer Group will be meeting in Stievenard Hall on the second Friday of the month, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm. His Mercy prayer group is open to all. The evening is in a charismatic format, consisting of praise and worship music and song, prayer, scripture sharing, and witness.

A “Charismatic Prayer Meeting” is a gathering of Christians to give praise, thanks, honor, and love to Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It’s a time we gather in community, to praise God on a one-to-one basis, as the Holy Spirit moves us.

A prayer meeting is not a discussion club, a therapy session, or a time for counseling. We come to give our full attention to Jesus through the help of the Holy Spirit (who will teach us all truth.)

A Prayer Meeting Has Two Purposes:

1. To praise, worship, and honor God

2. To build up the Body of Christ (as brothers and sisters)

Athletic Boosters

Currently, we have Boys and Girls Basketball and Girls Volleyball. We work with the CYO league and neighboring parishes that have the following sports for our students to be involved with as well: Football, Track and Field; and Boys Volleyball. Please note that to be eligible for any of our sports teams, children must have been enrolled and attending either the parish five-day school or our Sunday morning PRP program from the beginning of the school year.

The Boosters have been involved with many activities throughout the parish, such as building the Picnic Shelter at the baseball fields for all to use; completed landscaping around the Church, school building and the Ventura Hall. The Boosters have several different fundraisers throughout the year that not only involve the students in the school but also the entire parish. A few of these are the Walk-a-thon; Fish Fry; and Mulch Sale. The Boosters meet the 3rd Wednesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Gym.
